YWP Music Group was founded in 2000 in Wetumpka, Alabama by Joshua Tucker and Wade Watson. What began as a creative partnership has grown into an independent music company built to support the full lifecycle of any project—from production and recording through distribution, publishing administration, and long-term royalty collection.

At its core, the company has always been rooted in hip-hop production. Originally launched as Youngsta Wayz Productions, the company began as a production-focused entity specializing in hip-hop instrumental creation—and that work will always remain a core service. Producing music is not just where the company started; it continues to be a central part of what YWP Music Group offers artists and creators.

As their demand expanded, Josh and Wade opened and operated a recording studio in downtown Wetumpka, Alabama. There, they provided full production services including recording, mixing, and mastering for independent artists. Alongside the technical work, they served as executive producers—helping artists shape their sound, refine their projects, and develop a clear creative direction. Over time, this naturally evolved into hands-on artist development and long-term mentorships within the local music community.

In 2012, YWP Music Group expanded into music distribution, helping independent artists get their music onto major digital platforms at a time when access was still limited for many creators. That distribution capability has since grown into a global operation through WHO?MAG Multimedia.

In 2022, the company expanded again into music publishing administration, adding royalty infrastructure to its service model. This allowed the team to support performance, mechanical, and synchronization royalties—completing a key part of the business side of music and giving artists more visibility into the revenue their work generates.

In 2025, Youngsta Wayz Productions officially became YWP Music Group. The decision to retain “YWP” in the name was intentional — preserving a direct connection to the company’s roots and early identity. While the brand evolved to reflect a broader, genre-agnostic service model, the original acronym remains a consistent link to its foundation.

Today, YWP Music Group is still independently owned and operated by Josh and Wade, guided by the same vision that started it all: building real infrastructure around music so any artist can create, release, and earn from their work at every stage of the process. Alongside production, distribution, and publishing administration, the company also provides booking, artist management, promotion and branding services, enabling YWP to support the entire lifecycle of a project—from creation and release through monetization and long-term career growth—within a single, connected system.

Joshua Tucker, based in Wetumpka, Alabama, is the visionary CEO and Co‑Founder of YWP Music Group—a thriving independent music production and management company. Since launching the company in 2000 alongside business partner Wade Watson, Joshua has steered YWP Music Group to over two decades of excellence in the music industry.

Under his leadership, the company offers a full suite of musical services, including music publishing, copyright management, royalty tracking and distribution, audio mixing and mastering, custom music production, and branded apparel. These services support independent artists, producers, studios, and record labels in bringing creative visions to life while securing their rights and revenues.

Joshua also manages the business and administrative foundations of YWP Music Group, navigating publishing, performance rights, and licensing to maximize artists’ earnings from album sales, streaming platforms, radio, and live performances. Based out of the company’s headquarters in Wetumpka, he functions as the public face of the enterprise and its registered agent for operations in Alabama.

Joshua combines deep local roots with entrepreneurial drive to build a respected regional institution in music production. Over the years, he has overseen hundreds of compositions, beats, jingles, and full-scale audio mixes—fueling the careers of emerging talents and elevating the standard of independent music in Alabama.

Wade Watson
President, Co-Founder & Lead Producer

Wade Watson, based in Birmingham, AL is the President, Co-Founder, and Lead Producer of YWP Music Group.  Wade has been the creative backbone of the company since its founding in 2000, and brings more than two decades of hands-on experience in music production, sound engineering, and artist development.

As the driving force behind YWP Music Group’s distinctive sound, Wade has produced, arranged, and engineered countless tracks spanning Hip-Hop, Country, Rock, R&B, Gospel and beyond. His expertise in beat creation, live instrumentation, and studio recording has positioned YWP Music Group as a trusted production hub for independent artists and labels seeking high-quality, radio-ready sound.

In his role, Wade oversees the creative direction of projects from concept to completion, ensuring each composition reflects both the artist’s unique style and the company’s commitment to excellence. His technical mastery in mixing, mastering, and sonic design has elevated hundreds of songs, albums, and commercial jingles—solidifying YWP Music Group’s reputation for professional, industry-standard production.

Beyond the studio, Wade mentors rising producers and musicians, fostering a collaborative culture that keeps YWP Music Group at the forefront of independent music in Alabama and the Southeast.
